Posted On: 10/21/2024 These people are full of none sense . My son had a brace treatment for 7000.00 they told me the insurance covers 1400.00 so I paid 5600.00. A little bit over two years, they told me my insurance claimed they are not paying anymore and there is a balance of $355.00 I have to pay. I was upset. There is no transparency. They should have very clear with, I am always with my son during appointments. If I could give 0 star, that’s what I would give. Go to a different dentist office. All the sudden they told me oh he is finish but they did not want to remove the brace till I pay the money. Those people are thieves run for your life. Irlande C

Posted On: 09/28/2024 Would give 0 stars if possible. This office will not submit any predeterminations or work with your insurance so they can make as much money as possible, as quickly as possible. Even if it’s a detriment to their patient’s dental and overall health. They will fail to explain to you their office requires bone grafting and will have you finance or pay thousands out of pocket for. They will pressure you into paying right then & there and have you submit a claim you know your insurance won’t cover. And when you finally realize the scam that’s going on here, that these dentists have no interest in actually helping you and you complain to this office, they will ONCE AGAIN attempt to extort money out of you for necessary dental procedures.

Truly shameful, greedy, money hungry people. Every last one of them. According to other reviews, I am one of many people to have had similar experiences. So this office is WELL aware of “miscommunication” and “mishandling of paperwork” and already have their prewritten scripts ready to deny any wrongdoing.

I was in excruciating & agonizing pain for months, my teeth were in absolutely horrible condition for anyone, any age. These dentists and hygienists were literal robots, speaking like medical textbooks offering no empathy or sympathy, even. I had multiple tooth infections as well as a jaw infection. Yet for 6 months, they did not do any type of work on me in an attempt to squeeze thousands out of me while charging my insurance for basic visits and cleanings I never received. From my very first appointment, I explained I was disabled & unable to pay a dime out of pocket and would need this dental office to work with my insurance. Instead of explaining they required bone drafting, they referred me to a terrible oral surgeon who operates out of a dirty urgent care. I walked out after a hour because I was not about to get sick or infected with anything from this sketchy urgent care / oral surgeon office. (Wtaf??)

This office failed to submit my first predetermination, told me to wait another 4-6 weeks as they “resubmitted” it. I called the office two weeks in, they reviewed my file, said it was submitted, and to wait another month before calling back. For whatever, after 4 weeks of waiting (for the second submission) my gut told me to call my insurance & viola, the last time anything was sent to my insurance from this office was in early April. It was mid-August. After calming my self down, I called Canarsie Cosmetic Family Dental to figure out what was going on and they acted shocked and apologetic. The woman recording my complaint was very condescending and spoke to me like I was in kindergarten, attempting to explain to me how my own insurance worked and that they don’t cover bone grafting & that we could go ahead and set up another appointment if I could pay out of pocket. She was literally attempting to make a buck off of me as I was explaining the fact I’ve been unable to chew or smile for months at this point. And that this office did not mishandle any paperwork or fail to communicate anything instead they must’ve intentionally mishandled my case in an attempt to make more money than they would working with my insurance. Otherwise, it’s just medical neglect.

At 3-5 different appointments over 6 months, I made sure to explain at each one, I could not afford anything out of pocket. I need you to work with my insurance. If you cannot, please refer to me to someone who will. They said they would. They never did.

Best case scenario, this office is employed by incompetent and apathetic medical professionals. Worst case scenario, they’re intentionally mishandling patient care in attempt to make more money than they typically would working with insurance. Most likely and realistic scenario, they’re greedy, money hungry semi-professionals who don’t care about their patients health.

Avoid this office at all costs. Even if you can afford their outrageous prices, you should choose to support a dental office & group who cares about the community they serve. Stephanie
