Posted On: 12/21/2022 So far my experience at this dentist office has been a good one. I as well as my daughter come here and have had decent experiences. I was seen by one dentist initially who told me I would need a few fillings which was shocking to me as I've never really had a problem with cavities over the years. But then I saw Dr. Held and he reviewed my X rays, checked my teeth and clarified that he didn't see any issues and to just follow up in 6 months. Overall I'm satisfied. K M

I was a patient in the past, & they refused to clean my teeth & extract a tooth that was hurting tremendously (that my insurance paid for) because I needed to get a “dental implant” that cost $3000 dollars, when asked if I can just receive my cleaning, while I think about the dental implant (again which my insurance pay for & I’m entitled too), they stated I would need to get a dental implant to sort out issues before cleaning. They also mentioned that my tooth can not be saved & told me that a root canal wouldn’t work for me.

Well here I am a couple of months later, after thankfully switching my dentist with a seamlessly root canal, cleaning & everything I could ask for in a dentist.

Now I feel more at ease & comfortable with my newfound dentist & not pressured into spending thousands of dollars.

FYI Not all dental services requires money, this is why we have insurance to help us out. Shamica S

The front desk staff is very friendly and the hygienist answered all of my questions.

The technology that they use to take X-rays is very modern as well.

If you are looking for a new dentist, I suggest you try this place out. Adjuwa T

Posted On: 10/27/2022 My children and I have been patients at the Avenue L location but we were advised that our cleanings had to take place at the Rockaway Parkway office going forward. Initially, the individuals at the front desk were warm and friendly….until I questioned their organization procedures and treatment received during the appointment (10/27/2022). My children and I were all scheduled for a routine cleaning. After my first child was seen, we were left alone in the room while the dental hygienist went into another room to assist with another patient’s dental cleaning….no notification was given prior to the dental hygienist leasing the room. When the front desk was asked if this was their procedure and question why this was occurring, the “friendly, warm atmosphere” went out the window. There should be no reason why only one of my children was seen, but yet myself, and my other child had to wait until other patients were being attended to that arrived much later. This DOES NOT occur at the Avenue L location. I will be calling my insurance company first thing in the morning to obtain a list of participating dentist other than New York Family Dentistry. I refuse to go back to this location ever again! Akeelah B
