Posted On: 01/20/2024 I must say .. my first visit was an unforgettable one! Woke up with a swollen face and a wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted. I called several offices & unfortunately they were closed but Canarsie Cosmetic was open! Overall, that extraction was the worst pain I’ve felt in my life. But the customer service was 10/10!! From the dentist, to the assistants and the front desk staff. It was a welcoming experience and they supported me through that pain. I was literally screaming and crying and they really worked as a team until my extraction was completed. Amazing dentist btw! Positive attitude.

I recently scheduled an appointment to begin my braces journey but after this painful but relieving day, I will now cancel that appointment because I am sticking with Canarsie Cosmetic!!

Posted On: 01/17/2024 Such a terrible experience with Dr. Held. I came in for cavity fillings and was met with so much hostility for whatever reason. He had a condescending manner to him. He and the dentist that did my consultation moved too quickly and didn’t even initiate respectful conversations about the process. Then had the nerve to have an attitude when I asked questions and spoke to him. They act like they can’t have a simple nice conversation with you, just very judgemental. I’m your patient, you’re touching my teeth, talk to me nicely and let me know what’s going on! Hostility shouldn’t be present in a place where dentists are supposed to be helping people learn better oral care.

Other than that, they did the filling fine (as far as i know) , but he also didn’t have the decency to talk to me afterwards and wrap up our session. It's also very cramped and loud.

Hopefully they get better at communication, we can all live, learn, and do better—that’s the beauty of it 🙌🏿. Sarah

Posted On: 01/04/2024 While it was easy to speak to someone on the phone and get an appointment scheduled in the same week, my experience in office was poor. Though, I did not experience any wait time for my appointment, none of the staff was welcoming and this was my first time visit. A “treatment plan coordinator” came and put her fingers in my mouth without explaining why and It just seemed invasive, and unnecessary. (No one spoke to me about a treatment plan afterwards even though the dentist mentioned I had to get a filling… )The dentist, barely spent three minutes with me after mumbling his name to introduce himself to me with his back turned. My cleaning went okay but afterwards it felt like the dental hygienist was trying to sell me a fluoride treatment more than recommend me something that I needed.
The office is quite clean and seems to have up-to-date technology but I did not feel comfortable or cared for during my appointment at all. LaClaire R

Posted On: 12/30/2023 This is an ongoing situation and depending on the outcome today I will update this review. Went there yesterday for a cleaning and exam. I've been having some tooth sensitive and was aware I may have an infection. After a brief exam I was told by the assistant/nurse I guess that I would need work that my insurance does not cover to the tune of $3000 with 125 monthly payments. I thought that was strange since I have insurance provided by my union and extractions are free to members with prior authorization. I reached out to my insurance company and was told there was no prior authorization submitted on my behalf so I wonder if there was one even submitted. If that's the case this is bad business especially with costs being what they are for people in the medical profession trying to squeeze patients pockets and run their credit which is a hard inquiry. Like I said this is ongoing and once I speak with the dental office I will be back with an update.

UPDATE UPDATE**** I spoke to Eliana today 1/4 and she did let me know a prior authorization has been sent. She also apologized for my experience and reassured me that I would be taken care of. Thank you Eliana for listening to me and for your professionalism and courtesy! Keesha S

Posted On: 12/28/2023 All the staff here is so kind and polite. Both doctors I saw were extremely knowledgeable and intentional to give me results that I was happy with. Dr. Abed and Dr. Held were good in their own ways and so were their assistants. They’ve got a client out of me. Even though their office is out the way for me that level of attentiveness and courtesy can’t be found everywhere. ILLY W
